nail art: bumblebee

Today I decided to play with fake nails. I'd been wanting to for a while and never got round to doing it, but after finishing late at college, I needed something to wind me down and take my mind off of the constant stomach pain I'm experiencing today. I'd seen the bumblebee nails scattered around tumblr nail blogs for ages and always wanted to have a go. Scroll to see what I used and how I did the design.







I used: Models Own Bloo Boo, eBay Nail Art Pens
~ I used a light sky-ish blue for the background, I actually forgot how nice Bloo Boo was until I did this, I applied two quite thick coats because I'm ridiculously impatient. ~ Then, I used the black pen with the pen bit, not the striper, to create tiny dots in a swirl for the bee to fly along. ~ I used the same tool to create the cirlce for the bumblebee, his wings, eye, antenna and stripes. ~ I let this dry and dotted the yellow onto the stripes and the white on the eye, wings and the last stripe. ~Allow the design to dry and apply a topcoat, my favourite is China Glaze's First and Last.
